Community Server 2007 Contest

UPDATED: The deadline for submissions has been extended to May 28, 2007

After what seemed like forever, today I got back from lunch to find a box with my free author copies of Professional Community Server. I had been waiting for a while since I wanted to use one of the copies as a prize for a mini-contest I am hoping to run off this blog (outlined below). I guess the timing couldn't be better since today is the last business day before we launch the final release of Community Server 2007.

Contest Rules

Create the best "extension" for Community Server 2007. Examples include, but are not limited to, CSModules, Tasks, Providers, SpamRules, Control Panel Add-In, Report, Theme, or anything else you can think of. While submissions may include custom configuration, they cannot include alteration to any of the core source code or require database changes. All submissions must work with the RTM version of Community Server 2007 and remain the property of the submitter.

Judging will be based on creativity, ease of use/install, and overall functionality. Winners will be announced on this blog within two weeks of deadline.

Deadline

All submissions must be zipped and emailed to me (jlema AT telligent DOT com) by May 28, 2007. Please use the subject "Jose's CS2K7 Contest".

Prizes

I've got three prizes planned:

The winners will have their choice of prize. 1st place gets first choice. 2nd gets second choice. 3rd gets leftovers Smile

Fine Print

  • If less than three people submit entries, I may choose to either extend or cancel the contest.
  • While I don't mind shipping internationally, if you're outside the U.S. we will need to discuss the shipping charges. I'm also not sure if there are any restrictions on exporting the download code for UNO.
  • This contest is strictly created by me (José Lema). It is in no way endorsed, supported, or sanctioned by my employer (Telligent).

Are there any special conditions, exclusions, or restrictions? For example - is the contest open to employees of Telligent? :)

Anyone may enter but I am hoping that submissions will be new rather than a recompile of an existing extension. Looking forward to some great submissions!
