The Family Picture
While I love to take pictures with my camera, I’ve never been a big fan of taking “The Family Picture”. It’s just too hard to get everyone to smile and look “right”. So when Linda told me it was that time of the year, I was not too excited.
First, we needed to select a “theme”. In the past we’ve done jeans/t-shirt, pajamas, and even superhero costumes. This year, though, she wasn’t quite sure what to wear. So, at the request of one of my boys (I think it was Noah) we ended up doing the camouflage look. The kids were in camo-shirts and jeans, while we wore black tops.
The gal spent about 10 minutes getting the pose “just right” and then proceeded to try and get my boys to smile…yeah, right! So after a couple attempts at the family shot, we took one of just the boys and another of just the two of us. At the end, now 20+ minutes later, she said, “Okay, let’s take a silly picture! You guys arrange yourselves.” And, of course, it turned out to be the best one.
